Vive St. Anne

Oh it feels so good to work in the studio again! I've spent so much of my free time working on the house, I forgot how much I love to just in my studio at night and work away. Here is another shadowbox for the studio. I haven't put the title on it yet, but I will be calling it Vive St. Anne. I believe St Anne was the patron Saint of seamstresses in France. Have a happy and creative Tuesday.

New Artwork.

I've been working some art pieces to hang in my studio. I'm going to make 5 in total. Here is the first one I completed. I haven't come up with a title for it yet. If any one has any ideas please let me know! I've also been working on getting a blog shop put together. It's finished and loaded but I haven't quite figured out how to imbed the paypal button in each post. As soon as I do I will put some of my other artwork over there. There is still one of my small pieces that I first did available at Artfire here. As always, I cherish your feedback! Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Sommerset here I come!

Well, I finally decided to get off my scaredy-cat butt and send some things in to Sommerset Studio. They are refrigerator magnets and not newly made, but they are my own designs and I don't recall seeing anything like them in the magazine. I thought about making some of the apothecary tags and sending them too, but I know that will postpone me sending these out. I don't know why I have avoided doing it. I've been wanting to contribute for a couple of years now. I guess it's just a fear of rejection. Silly huh? I would really like to continue to submit, so maybe now that that I'm getting my feet wet, it will be easier next time. Wish me luck!!!!

A Great Read!!!!

Extra, extra, read all about it!! My friend Deb over at The Digi Scrap News is doing an article about one of my (and probably your) favorite designers for digital paper, elements and collage sheets. Roben Marie-Smith of Paperbag Studio's is the featured designer over there. Please hop on over to Debs blog and take a look at the fabulous site she's put together. She's a wealth of information!!!

Just a couple of changes...

So I've been looking at the shadowbox that I made in class a couple of weekends ago. She's hanging in my studio and she's been speaking to me. "I'm not quite done yet...I'm not "you" yet... Fix me..." So, I listened and fixed her. Just a couple of small changes , but we're both much happier now!

Class project

Oh my goodness, these last couple of weeks have gone by in a whirwind! Between getting ready for the Mad Hatter Tea Party and adding all my guests for my own party Where Bloggers Create, and work and stuff here at home...life has just been crazy! However I did make sure I took some time to take a class over at Frenzy Stamper here in Scottsdale. The fabulous and very sweet Julie Haymaker Thompson taught the class. She is such a good teacher, if you ever get a chance to take one of her classes I highly recommend it! I had such a wonderful time and learned some techniques I will use over and over again. I already have plans of making several more of these sweet little shadow boxes!

ATC Vintage Bride

I think I am slightly obsessive/compulsive! I have done nothing creative this whole time except work on my new blog. I must admit I’ve been having a wonderful time. I had tons of help with this first one, but the new one I have done all by myself. I really do look at it as a big art project. The look has to feel right, just as in any other piece I create. But I wonder why I am not capable of spreading my time equally between the two blogs. (To heck with housework and my husband!!) I do tend to immerse myself completely in whatever project I happen to be on. But I miss you guys! I feel like I have been away forever when it’s only been just over a week. So tonight, I sat down and finished the ATC’s I’m doing for a Yahoo swap. The theme is Vintage Bride. I’ll see you all soon for another challenge!!!

My New Blog!!!!

Well, I've been a very busy girl this weekend, doing absolutely nothing productive. But I have been having a whole lot of fun!!!! I finally got my Home and Garden Blog up and running. I'm very pleased. I did the header myself using the one Michelle at Shabby Creations did for me as a jumping off point. There aren't very many posts up yet, but I plan to fill it with all things "cottagy" and as many green growy things as my desert climate will allow. I would love it if you would go over there and let me know what you think!!!

Gothic Arch: Garden Sprite

This is my very first entry for the Gothic Arch challenge, where the theme was Garden Sprite. The little girl came from Altered pages and the background is from Paperbag Studios. I added a little more paint, some rubber stamps, and all the collage elements. The daisy's all have glitter on them. This was really fun.

Art Creation Friday Challenge

For this week Art Creations Challenge I made this ATC. I just loved the image of the little girl all dressed in white, she looked do sweet and innocent..hence the title of this piece.
Thanks to Jen U for her awesome window frame.

Western woman ATC

I made this ATC for a swap I'm participating in. It's a Yahoo group I recently joined and I'm very excited to be a part of it.

Lovely award from a friend

The lovely and talented Michelle over at Shabby Creations has been sweet enough to bestow upon me the "One Lovely Blog" award. This means a great deal because Michelle has worked on some of the most wonderful blogs out there. The "rules" for this award are as follows:

1. Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who's given it to you, along with the link to his or her blog. 2. Pass the award to several other blogs you enjoy. Contact those bloggers to let them know they've been chosen for this award. Have fun and enjoy your award! I really hope you choose to play and keep it going. But if you don't, that's okay too. Just enjoy your award in any way you wish and know that I think you have a very lovely blog.

Now this was no easy task because I have come across some beautiful blogs! I'm sure there are a few that I should have included, but I wasn't sure if awards were there "thing". So, with that said here are my 5 choices for beautiful blogs.

Amanda at Maygreen Fairies creates the most incredible fairy art out there.

Stacey at Primarily Primitives not only has a lovely blog, creates lovely art, but also has a lovely heart and shares her goodies with the rest of us.

Sara D at Whimsy Dreams Studio... well what can I say? Her blog is just LOVELY!!!

Rachel Bland at Creative Flight not only has a beautiful blog but fills it with (in my opinion) some of the most lovely collage work out there.

And finally...Barb at Stamplicity. Not only because of her lovely blog, but also because she is just a lovely person.

So there there are!! I hope you enjoy visiting there blogs as much as I do!!!! And Thank you Michelle!!!!
